Mid Sussex District is a local government district in the ceremonial county of West Sussex, England. It is located in the south-east of the country, east of the city of Brighton and Hove and south of the county town of Chichester. The district is rural in character, and is largely made up of small villages, towns and hamlets. The climate in Mid Sussex is temperate and mild with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. Average temperatures range from 10°C (50°F) in January to 22°C (72°F) in July. The average rainfall is around 700mm (28in) per year, with the wettest months being December and January.
