Stikine is a region in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is largely made up of the Stikine Region, which includes the Stikine Plateau and the Stikine River. It is bounded by the North Coast of British Columbia to the west, the Chilkat Range and the Chilkat Pass in the south, the Alaska Panhandle to the east, and the Yukon Territory to the north. The climate of Stikine is generally cooler than the rest of British Columbia. It has a subarctic climate with long, cold, snowy winters and short, cool summers. Average temperatures range from -10°C in winter to 15°C in summer, with occasional extreme temperatures of up to 35°C in summer and -40°C in winter. Precipitation is light, with an average of around 500mm per year.
