Boulder City is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States. It was established in 1931 and is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Las Vegas. The city is most famous for being the location of the Hoover Dam, and it was the only city in Nevada that prohibited gambling. The climate in Boulder City is traditional of the Mojave Desert, with hot summers and mild winters. Temperatures in the summer can reach up to 105°F (41°C) and in the winter can drop to as low as 40°F (4°C). Average temperatures year-round are approximately 75°F (24°C). Rainfall is extremely low, with most of the precipitation coming in the form of snow.
