Lake Wissota Weather Today

Lake Wissota is a reservoir located in Chippewa County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It was created in 1917 when the Chippewa River was impounded by the construction of the Hydroelectric Dam at the northern edge of the lake. The lake is approximately 5,850 acres in size and is a popular recreational destination for fishing, swimming, boating, and camping. The climate in Lake Wissota is typical of the Upper Midwest region of the US. The average temperatures year round range from a high of 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 Celsius) in the summer, to a low of 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 Celsius) in the winter. The area gets an average of 37 inches of rainfall per year, mostly concentrated from April to August. Snowfall averages 45 inches per year, with the heaviest snowfall occurring from December to March.
