It is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and lies around 25 miles northeast of Sacramento. The climate in Penryn is classified as a Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average temperatures range from lows in the mid 30s in the winter to highs in the mid 90s in the summer. Precipitation is fairly low throughout the year, but the winter months tend to be wetter than the summer months.
