Clearwater County is a county located in the U.S. state of Idaho. It is home to the Nez Perce National Historical Park and the Clearwater National Forest. The county seat is Orofino. The climate in Clearwater County is considered to be a humid continental climate, which is characterized by mild, wet winters and dry, hot summers. The average temperature year-round is around 46°F (8°C). During the summer months, temperatures can reach up to 90°F (32°C) while in the winter they can dip down to as low as 10°F (-12°C). Precipitation is fairly evenly spread throughout the year with annual totals averaging around 24 inches (61 cm). The area does experience some snow, but it is usually light and does not last for very long.
