Etowah County is located in northeastern Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is best known as the home of Gadsden, the county seat and largest city, which is also the birthplace of legendary rock and roll musician, Elvis Presley. The climate in Etowah County is temperate, with generally mild winters and hot, humid summers. Average temperatures range from lows of around 40°F in the winter to highs of around 90°F in the summer.
