Dozier is a small unincorporated community in Escambia County, Florida. It is located in the far western part of the state, just north of Pensacola. Dozier is most famous for being the site of a former residential school for African American children. The school was known as the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys, and operated from 1900 until 2011. The climate in Dozier is generally mild year round. Summers are hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from the mid 70s to the low 90s. Winters are usually mild and damp, with temperatures typically ranging from the upper 40s to the low 60s. Rainfall is abundant throughout the year, with the months of May and June receiving the highest amount of precipitation.
