It is situated in the south-west of London and stretches from the River Thames in the north to the Mole Gap in the south. Elmbridge is a mainly rural area, with many villages and some towns, including Esher, Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge. The climate of Elmbridge District is typical of the South of England. It is temperate, with mild winters and warm to hot summers. Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, with the wettest months being October and December.
